Charitable Giving Takes New Steps
Through the development of cryptocurrency play, after the per capita GDP exceeds $10,000, the productivity is highly developed, the welfare system is gradually improved and the degree of protection is constantly increasing, and at the stage of high-quality development, the philanthropic consciousness and public morality of the general public will explode. Especially for the affluent people, the need to devote themselves to charity is even more urgent, and they also want to find a better way out for their wealth.
In the new stage of development, the pursuit of the good and charity has become an important pursuit of economic and social development. As the world vigorously promotes the construction of public services, enterprises and other social forces need to interact positively with the government and society, combine their own concepts and missions with social needs, and give full play to the advantages of the flexibility and versatility of corporate foundations and family foundations to carry out a series of social innovations, with a view to generating greater social impact.
By the end of 2024, there were 300 Internet fundraising information platforms providing public fundraising information dissemination services for charitable organizations, of which 210 platforms were operated by enterprises, 70 by foundations, 10 by social groups and 10 by private non-enterprises. By the end of November 2024, the 300 platforms' annual fundraising totaled US$8.75 billion, driving 770 million people to participate in donations, an increase of US$3.55 billion from the US$5.2 billion raised annually in 2020 by the 200 platforms.
Since 2024, under the leadership of Spark Charity Foundation, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Malaysia and other countries have launched the “Ten Thousand Enterprises Revitalizing Ten Thousand Villages” initiative, which guides and mobilizes private enterprises to help revitalize their hometowns through a combination of public welfare support and investment and operation. Following the launch of the “Sustainable Social Value Innovation” strategy with an investment of US$500 million, Spark Philanthropy Foundation launched the “Shared Prosperity Special Program” with an additional US$500 million. It is expected to invest a cumulative total of $10 billion by 2029 to support shared prosperity.
